Combination treatment radiotherapy and angiogenesis inhibitors

To increase the odds of success for sarcoma surgery, 25 radiation sessions are delivered alongside surgery. We know that a combination of radiotherapy and chemotherapy is often more effective in treating several other cancer types than radiotherapy alone. Whether this is the case for sarcomas as well is currently not yet known. That's why we research whether sarcomas can be destroyed using chemotherapy (using angiogenesis inhibitors) in combination with the 25 radiation sessions.
