Freek Klijzing

I frequently visited the Netherlands Cancer Institute in 2018. While receiving immunotherapy for melanoma, surgery, and during my screening and check-up appointments, I became increasingly enthusiastic about the expertise, commitment, and dedication of the people working at the NKI. In between all uncertainties, helplessness, and fighting, the NKI became my safe haven.

I have been doing well for quite some time now and I want to return the favor to the Netherlands Cancer Institute by providing my services to anyone visiting the NKI as a patient.

I can contribute to the Patient Council from my own experiences as a patient and as the head of the JSK, the foundation for young people and cancer. I am honored to be able to help provide my thoughts and advice about various (policy) areas as a member of the patient council.
