Anna Willemijn Buddeke

I have been working at the Netherlands Cancer Institute as an anesthesiologist since 2017. I received my training at the LUMC, where I specialized in cardiothoracic anesthesia.

I chose to work in anesthesiology because the profession includes a lot of patient contact, and it's very proactive. We are involved throughout the entire process surrounding surgery - from preoperative screening to postoperative care at the intensive care ward and postoperative pain treatment. It is my goal to make my patient feel comfortable before their anesthesia, guide them through the surgery, and wake them back up without pain by offering good pain medication.

I was drawn to the Netherlands Cancer Institute because of its work culture and teamwork. Together we ensure that our patients receive the best care possible.
