Dr. Ane Appelt

Dr Ane Appelt is an associate professor at University of Leeds, UK, and honorary clinical medical physicist at St James’s University Hospital. Her work has focused on rectal cancer, and specifically organ preservation and non-surgical management. Other research interests include optimizing and individualizing radiotherapy, with a focus on pelvic radiotherapy outcomes and model-based predictions of late treatment toxicity. She has published on organ preservation with high-dose chemoradiotherapy, tumour radiotherapy dose-response, and normal tissue toxicity. She is a keen trialist, currently involved in over half a dozen radiotherapy trials, including one rectal cancer organ preservation trial as co-CI.
