The European Society of Abdominal and Gastrointestinal Radiology (ESGAR) and the European Society of Digestive Oncology (ESDO) are organising a multidisciplinary course on hepatobiliary, pancreatic and gastrointestinal tract neoplasms at the Netherlands Cancer Institute in Amsterdam on March 30-31, 2017 (Local organiser Prof. Dr. Regina Beets-Tan).

The course aims to provide knowledge on an integrated approach of imaging in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer. In expert lectures and interactive workshops held by a renowned European multidisciplinary faculty, the attendees learn about new imaging methods, the clinically relevant questions and how the answers impact treatment decision making in hepatic, pancreatic and gastrointestinal cancer.

Aims

  • To provide knowledge on an integrated approach of imaging in the diagnosis, treatment and management of hepatic, pancreatic and GI neoplasms.
  • To understand how information obtained by imaging can be used for clinical decision making, treatment planning and response assessment.
  • To learn about new imaging methods, the clinically relevant questions and how the answers impact treatment decision making
  • To attend smaller groups workshops simulating multidisciplinary tumour boards.
  • To interact with teachers in an open atmosphere.
  • To understand each other's specialty needs


Target Group

The target group consists of senior residents and specialist involved in the diagnosis and management of patients with hepatic, pancreatic and GI tract neoplasms (such as radiologists, nuclear medicine specialists, surgeons, oncologists, gastroenterologists and radiotherapists), who are interested to learn and improve their knowledge on an optimal approach to multidisciplinary treatment management exploiting the use of imaging.
