Rem Postuma often makes monumental works of ceramics. He is inspired by architecture, interiors, art and gardens from past centuries. His work sometimes consists of one object, sometimes of many parts that together form a work and sometimes it is many works that together determine the space. In his work, art, craft and technology coincide. Postuma often works on commission for public buildings. For example, he made a wall relief of 3-dimensional tiles for the Islamic Pavilion on the Nieuwe Ooster in Amsterdam. This work is a donation from the family of Ronald Kuipers to the Netherlands Cancer Institute.
