Meditation center and prayer room

You will find the silence room of the Antoni van Leeuwenhoek at the beginning of the central hall, to the left of the activity center. You can relax in the quiet room. Anyone who needs a moment of reflection is welcome in this room.

In the room you can meditate, pray or rest for a while. You can also write down thoughts or prayers in the book or place a light. Next to the meditation center is also an Islamic prayer room with its own entrance.

The meditation center and prayer room are open day and night. You are always welcome here.

Stiltecentrum
The meditation center is accessible to everyone and radiates warmth. This is depicted by atmosphere, color and recognizable elements. The colour scheme of the interior matches the four elements: earth, water, air and fire.

Against the back wall is a gold-coloured circle surrounded by 19 stone discs with symbols from different philosophical movements.

On the three stones in front of the artwork is the possibility to create a
electric light. There is a book in which a thought or prayer can be written down.

On the outside of the meditation center is the text of Huub Oosterhuis:

Room for
light that does not go out,
Love that stays

Islamic prayer room

The prayer room is furnished in accordance with Islamic regulations in appropriate soft green, including two laundry rooms and with the fixed direction of prayer towards Mecca. Recognizable in the room is the Koran text in gold color against the side wall. The prayer room is open day and night.

Sunday celebrations in the Glass Hall

Twice a month, on the second and fourth Sunday of the month, there is a celebration or reflection meeting for patients in the Glass Hall at 10.30 am. There is piano music, a poem or story, candles are lit and there is room for silence. The atmosphere is open and the meeting is open to everyone, including loved ones.

If you are admitted, our volunteers will visit you to ask if you want to go to the viewing. They can accompany you to the meeting with a bed or wheelchair. If you can't make it yourself, you can follow the meeting via your bedside iPad.
