Bart Schieveld

Since October 2016 I have been working as an anesthesiologist at the Netherlands Cancer Institute. I am involved in anesthesiology across the full breadth of the profession with extra interest in the (difficult) airway and ultrasound-guided locoregional techniques.

As a patient, you often don't know what to expect if you have to undergo surgery in the hospital. Part of our profession is therefore to guide the patient through a procedure safely and with confidence. In terms of content, we deal with anesthesia, pain management and maintaining vital parameters. Every day, we provide this tailor-made care together with an anaesthetist.

The high quality of care provided by all my medical colleagues with personal attention to the patient makes me want to work at the Netherlands Cancer Institute.
