Marloes Bolman
Since 2014 I have been working as an anesthesiologist at the Netherlands Cancer Institute. During my training at the Leiden University Medical Center (2009-2013) I specialized in ultrasound-guided regional techniques and anesthesia in cardio-thoracic procedures.
In addition to my work at the Netherlands Cancer Institute, I obtained the 'Diploma in Mountain Medicine' through the University of Leicester, a training course to become an expedition doctor. The body's adaptations to low oxygen levels in the mountains show many similarities with the situation under general anaesthesia. The accessible cooperation with the various specialisms and the involvement of all team members make the Netherlands Cancer Institute a very pleasant working environment.
