Sannine Buma

Since 2013 I have been working as an anesthesiologist in the operating rooms and as a pain specialist at the Netherlands Cancer Institute. I followed the training as an anesthesiologist at the VU University Medical Center, specializing in pain medicine and focusing on palliative care (2007 to 2012). I then completed the palliative care for medical specialists (2014).

In the Pain Team, we are committed to treating the pain that can arise from cancer and/or cancer treatment. We do this in the admission departments and in the outpatient clinic. I am also part of the Supportive Care Team, which supports patients for whom treatment can no longer lead to a cure. In the NKI, there is room for intensive guidance and a 'tailor-made plan' for each patient's complaints.
