In 2009 I started as a clinical physicist at the radiotherapy department. As a clinical physicist, you are responsible for the use of technology in healthcare, an incredibly fascinating field.
One of my responsibilities is to ensure that patients can receive optimal and safe radiation. Radiotherapy treatment is very demanding: we use complex equipment that has to work very precisely. Together with the physical-technical team, the doctors and the lab technicians, we make this possible.
At the Netherlands Cancer Institute, we are at the forefront of using new techniques and that is what makes working here so attractive to me.
