Michiel van den Brekel
I have been working at the Netherlands Cancer Institute since 2000. I specialize in the treatment of patients with cancer of the head and neck region: tumors originating from the mucous membranes in the mouth, nose and pharynx, salivary gland tumors, skin and thyroid tumors. Within the department, we strive for top quality patient care aimed at curing while maintaining as much quality of life as possible.
In addition to treating patients, I am involved in clinical and translational research. Research in the field of rehabilitation and quality of life also has my attention. We also train physician assistants to become ENT or oral surgeons and fellows to become head and neck surgeons.
