Christian Blank

I have been working at the Netherlands Cancer Institute since 2007. Before that, I was a doctor and researcher in Germany and America. I specialize in the treatment of patients with metastatic melanoma or renal cell cancer. I think the immune system can be our strongest weapon against cancer. That is why I am involved in research in this area. We are looking at whether we can teach the immune system to recognize and kill cancer cells.

With these immunotherapies and targeted therapies, we can help and sometimes even cure patients. I am committed to ensuring that as many patients as possible benefit from these promising therapies.

I am Professor of Internal Medicine at the LUMC. In particular, in clinical research of immunotherapy of cancer.
