I have been working at the Netherlands Cancer Institute since 2014. I started as an oncology nurse in training, in a number of different departments within the hospital.  After obtaining my diploma, I started working in the day care department, after which I started in July 2018 as a nurse specialist (in training) for thoracic oncology. A lot of research is done at the Netherlands Cancer Institute. There are also many developments in the field of treatments within the lung cancer specialty. Personally, I find it very interesting to experience this up close.

As nurse specialists, we guide the patients during treatment and are the permanent point of contact for the patients and the family. It is important that everyone receives the guidance they need. As a team, we work together and have one goal, namely the best care for the patient.
