Nadia van Galen

Since April 2022, I have been working at the Netherlands Cancer Institute as a nurse specialist in urology. Before this, I worked as an oncology/hematology nurse at the AmsterdamUMC, location VUmc. My interest and strength lie in psychosocial care. I believe that care should be accessible to everyone. With a background as an anthropologist and political scientist, I have a strong interest in social and political processes and hope to contribute to accessible and inclusive care.

The personal attention to the patient, the multidisciplinary collaboration, being at the heart of the research and being part of a driven team are all factors that make me feel at home at the NKI. My focus is prostate cancer and penile cancer and I hope to be able to give patients a warm welcome with my knowledge, experience and personal attention and to be able to guide and treat them optimally in an exciting period for them.
