Roos Kooij
I have been working at the Netherlands Cancer Institute since 2019. Before this, I worked at the MC Slotervaart and the Amsterdam UMC location VU. After my nursing training, I worked in various specialties during my oncology training, including surgical gynecology and internal pulmonary medicine. After completing this, I started as an oncology nurse in the clinical department of urological oncology. In addition to my clinical work, I have been a member of the Nursing Advisory Board of the NKI.
Since May 2023 I have been working as a nurse specialist (in training). The urology team is an enthusiastic and driven team, a team that motivates me and can still learn a lot. There is a good atmosphere among ourselves and that ensures accessible peer consultation. My focus within the team will be on bladder cancer.
For the patient, I want to focus on personal guidance/treatment tailored to my needs, information and quality of life. I want to create a safe, informal environment for patients in my consulting room, in order to shape the treatment that best suits the patient.
