Maurits van Montfoort

After my training as a pathologist at the AMC in Amsterdam, I started at the Antoni van Leeuwenhoek hospital in 2019. This hospital is characterized, among other things, by short lines of communication between doctors and scientists, which makes it easy for new treatments to find their way to the patient. In addition to regular tissue diagnostics, my role as a pathologist also includes research into changes in the DNA that cause the tumor. In this way, I try to contribute to the correct diagnosis and the best treatment for the patient. I am particularly involved in urological tumors, in particular bladder and kidney cancer and lung cancer.
