Everyone is allowed to work at the Antoni van Leeuwenhoek hospital with passion and dedication. Within plastic surgery, we perform reconstructive procedures at the time of oncological treatment, preventively, or as a repair operation after oncological treatment. These treatments are always in consultation with the patient's other practitioners.

Attention to quality of care and shared decision-making has always been a spearhead for me; The patient is central. This is evident from my PhD research into the national hospital variation in performing direct breast reconstructions and quality of life with breast reconstruction. I therefore try to determine together with each patient what the best treatment option is for him or her.
