Caroline van der Zee

Since February 2021, I have been working as a plastic surgeon at the Netherlands Cancer Institute. I followed part of my training at the Netherlands Cancer Institute and experienced how special it is to put the patient first in a multidisciplinary team. As a plastic surgeon, I am involved in reconstructive procedures in oncological or preventive patients who are already being treated by another specialty within our hospital.

We can perform these reconstructive procedures immediately after surgery by the oncological surgeon or after recovery from the oncological treatment. The best treatment is examined for each patient. Together with the patient, we look for the best possible balance between a quick recovery and a good quality of life after treatment.
