Since the beginning of 2020, I have been working as a healthcare psychologist / sexologist NVVS at the Netherlands Cancer Institute (NKI) within the Center for Quality of Life (CKvL). Within sexology, biopsychosocial thinking is very important because many factors influence sexuality in all three areas (biological: such as illness and treatment / psychological: such as mood and self-image / social: such as the partner relationship and cultural aspects). I see patients with different types of cancer and often together with their partner.

It is nice that colleagues within the NKI are easily accessible both within the CKvL and outside and that everyone puts the patient's perspective in the foreground. With the CKvL, the NKI indicates the importance of improving the quality of life for oncology patients.
