Since 2019 I have been working as a pulmonologist at the Netherlands Cancer Institute. The special thing about this hospital is that there is a close link between science and care, which means that there are many opportunities to apply the latest treatments. Every patient is unique and I think deciding together on the most appropriate individual treatment is a very nice aspect of this profession.
As a pulmonologist, I am part of the Early Clinical Research team at the hospital. Within this team, the latest treatments are given to patients in a study context for the first time. In addition, as an interventional pulmonologist, I specialize in performing endobronchial interventions by means of rigid bronchoscopies in the operating room.
