Since 2017 I have been working as a pulmonologist at the Antoni van Leeuwenhoek hospital. I combine care for patients with PhD research. The subject for this PhD research is immunotherapy for mesothelioma (asbestos cancer).

I find pulmonary oncology a very interesting field, which also involves a great development in knowledge and treatment options. The great thing about working at the Netherlands Cancer Institute is that you can immediately use all these new developments and treatments to treat people. I think it is important to make the best treatment plan together with the person sitting in front of you.
