Monique Bloemers
I have been working at the Netherlands Cancer Institute (NKI) since 2002. I did my training as a radiotherapeutic oncologist here and then started working as a staff member. I specialize in the treatment of gynecological tumors.
We work in a multidisciplinary team of gynaecologists, oncologists, radiotherapists, surgeons, pathologists and nurse specialists. My goal is to irradiate gynecological patients even more precisely, so that there is less toxicity of healthy tissue and ultimately a higher dose can be given. That is why we combine physical work with clinical research. We have now reached the point where cervical cancer patients are irradiated with a plan of the day by means of adaptive radiotherapy.
