Marie-Jeanne Vrancken Peeters

I have been working as an oncological surgeon at the Netherlands Cancer Institute since 2005, where I treat patients with breast cancer. In addition to my clinical work, I have started a number of lines of research to improve breast cancer care, resulting in more than 150 publications. Since June 2020, I have been appointed professor by special appointment at the University of Amsterdam with the teaching remit: 'Tailor-made breast cancer treatment'.

I was a board member of the Dutch Society for Surgery and chairman of the NABON Breast Cancer Audit. Currently I am a.o. Chairman of the NABON (National Breast Cancer Consultation Netherlands), chairman of the breast surgery working group of the NVCO (Dutch Society for Surgical Oncology) and in that capacity in close contact with the Dutch Breast Cancer Association. I am also a Dutch panel member of the Oncoplastic Breast Consortium, and a member of the supervisory board of the Helen Dowling Institute. Moreover, I am a mother of 2 daughters and a son.
