Niels Graafland
Since 2019 I have been working as a urologist at the Netherlands Cancer Institute. Before this, I worked for two years at the Radboudumc in Nijmegen as a urologist as part of a fellowship (on kidney cancer). In the past, I obtained my PhD at the Netherlands Cancer Institute on the treatment of penile cancer. I have always experienced it here as a very pleasant hospital to work in.
At the Netherlands Cancer Institute, there is intensive and accessible cooperation between the various specialisms. In addition, a lot of scientific research is being conducted. In this way, we want to continuously improve patient care and optimize care for each individual patient. Within our team of dedicated specialists, I am mainly involved in the treatment of patients with renal, renal pelvic and penile cancer.
The Netherlands Cancer Institute is part of the Kidney Cancer Network Amsterdam. Within this network, I am one of the kidney cancer surgeons. We have a weekly multidisciplinary meeting together with the OLVG and AUMC about patients with (suspected) kidney cancer. By bringing together and sharing available knowledge and expertise, the Kidney Cancer Network Amsterdam is committed to even better treatment results for every patient. By conducting scientific research, we want to improve the treatment of patients with kidney cancer. In our network and hospital, all treatment options (if applicable) can be offered.
