Soe Janssens

Since 2012 I have been a dermatologist at the Netherlands Cancer Institute. The dermatological conditions in this hospital are different from those in a regular hospital. I see a lot of melanomas and other forms of skin cancer, but also a high number of patients with skin side effects during chemotherapy and other anti-cancer therapy.

Skin conditions are often visible on the face. That is why the choice of therapy always weighs up what gives the best combination of healing and a cosmetically beautiful end result. I provide information about enjoying the sun responsibly every day because it is important for the prevention of skin cancer. Strict sun avoidance is usually not necessary.
