I have been working at the Netherlands Cancer Institute as a medical geneticist at the Hereditary Cancer Clinic since 2017. I see people who have questions about the hereditary nature of cancer in themselves or a family member at my consultation. it is important to me to provide sufficient information about and guide people through these genetic tests so they can make informed decisions. I discuss whether people really want to know whether they have a hereditary susceptibility. The results of the DNA tests may be of importance to the patient's treatment.
The combination of good patient care in which the patient always comes first and globally renowned scientific research make the Netherlands Cancer Institute a great place to work.
