I specialize in DNA diagnostics, both for heredity and molecular pathology (DNA from tumors). I try to make use of new better techniques as much as possible, as we have been successfully applying High Resolution Melting Curve Analysis (HRM) for diagnostics for several years now. By means of DNA diagnostics, we can increasingly make a prediction about which treatment is suitable for a patient, in addition to hereditary predisposition.

It is fascinating to see the discoveries and developments in this field and then to be able to apply them. Since I joined the NKI in 2008, I have already experienced many important steps. Because I look at both heredity in DNA from blood and changes in DNA from tumors, I have a varied and challenging job.
