I have been working at the Netherlands Cancer Institute (NKI) since 2014. I deliberately chose this hospital because the combination of specialist top care and personal attention for the patient is unique. Just like for many of my colleagues, my working day is successful if I have been able to go the extra mile for a patient.
During my training at UMC Utrecht, I focused on the combination of different imaging techniques such as PET scans combined with CT scans to be able to make an even better diagnosis and to control interventions. An example of this is the minimally invasive treatment of liver tumors with radioactive spheres that are injected through the hepatic artery. This procedure is performed by a specialist team from the Nuclear Medicine and Radiogy Departments .
