Hester van Boven
After my training as a clinical pathologist, I started in the Pathology department in 2002. I specialize in the pathology of tumors that occur in the genitals, kidneys, urinary tract and soft tissue.
With the microscope I look and search with great passion for characteristics of tumor cells. Using molecular techniques, I investigate together with molecular biologists whether (and if so, which) genes determine the cell growth of the tumors. For example, I make the diagnosis with a large team in this department, we predict the course, we map out treatment options for patients and we contribute to scientific research into cancer.
