I have been conducting scientific research into the quality of life of people with (increased risk of developing) cancer. It is important to me that there is room for potential psychosocial problems during conversations between physicians, nurses, and patients. We try to increase awareness of these problems with our research.

We also investigate the experiences with (preventive) surgery and screenings for people with a hereditary predisposition to develop cancer. We hope to be able to use this knowledge to better inform new patients and decrease or prevent unpleasant consequences. I greatly admire the flexibility I see in patients and their loved ones during these hard times, again and again.
