Berthe Aleman
I have been working at the Netherlands Cancer Institute (NKI) since 1989, first as an art assistant in training to become a radiotherapist and then as a medical specialist. I specialize in the treatment of patients with lymphoma (especially Hodgkin's lymphoma) and patients with a tumor in the gastrointestinal tract (especially esophageal cancer).
In addition, in collaboration with the Department of Psychosocial Research and Epidemiology, I conduct research into late effects after cancer treatment. We are currently working nationwide to set up outpatient clinics for survivors of (non-)Hodgkin's lymphoma. This allows us to apply knowledge from research in practice. With this, we want to improve the life expectancy of (non-)Hodgkin's lymphoma survivors in good health.
