Berthe Aleman

I started working at the Netherlands Cancer Institute in 1989, initially while training as a radiation oncologist, then as a medical specialist. I specialize in the treatment of patients with lymphoma (especially Hodgkin lymphoma) and patients with gastrointestinal tumors (especially esophageal cancer).

I also collaborate with the Psychosocial Research and Epidemiology Department in research into late effects after cancer treatment. We are currently working towards the establishment of outpatient clinics for survivors of (non-)Hodgkin lymphoma at a national level in order to be able to immediately implement all our research findings into the clinic. We aim to improve the life expectancy of (non-)Hodgkin lymphoma survivors in good health.
