I have been working as an oncology nurse in the NKI in the surgical nursing department since January 2009 and now as a support consultant at the CKVL. This is a great next step in my career. I take the experience I gained in the nursing ward into the conversations.

I have seen a lot and therefore I often know what patients go through during treatment. I am interested in how people live their lives and have a good sense of empathy.

As a support consultant, we provide tailor-made care in all phases of illness and we think along with what the patient needs in terms of care and support within and outside the NKI.

Topics that are discussed in a conversation are: mental, social network, exercise, sleep, nutrition, but also life questions. We mainly offer a listening ear, but also tools that you can use immediately. That makes the work rewarding, versatile and gives me a lot of satisfaction.
