Theo Ruers

I have been connected to the Netherlands Cancer Institute as head of the department of surgical oncology since 2007. My own primary clinical areas of expertise are liver and colorectal surgery.
I manage several national and international research studies concerning these surgery types.
My research also looks into
new image guided treatment methods, which will help improve the quality of our surgical treatments, while reducing the risks.

I manage the research as a professor of Oncology and Biomedical Imaging at the University of Twente. I have been working as a surgical oncologist since 1994, and have received my training at the Hammersmith Hospital and King's College Hospital, both in London.
