Mathilde van der Eijk

Since January 1998 I have been working as a nurse at the Netherlands Cancer Institute. After oncology training, I worked in the Surgery department where gynaecological, urological and gastroenterological operations took place. The Netherlands Cancer Institute has given me the opportunity to develop myself further, with the result that I am now specialized as a wound, ostomy and continence nurse. The work is very diverse and it remains a challenge to find a suitable solution for each patient to his or her problem or to support them in a different way.

The Antoni van Leeuwenhoek is a relatively small hospital, where the lines are short and you can quickly consult with other disciplines, which I experience as a big plus, so that patients can be helped more effectively.
