Mathilde van der Eijk

I started working at the Netherlands Cancer Institute in January 1998. After my oncological training, I worked in the department for surgical oncology where gynaecological, urological, and gastroenterological surgeries were performed. The Netherlands Cancer Institute allowed me to further develop myself, which resulted in my certification as a wound, ostomy, and continence nursing. My tasks are varied, and it is always an exciting challenge to find a personalized solution to all my patients' problems and to offer them suitablesupport in other ways.

The Netherlands Cancer Institute is a relatively small hospital. Our lines of communication are short, so it is easy to consult people from other departments. This is immensely valuable to me because it helps us care for our patients more effectively.
