The Patient Council is involved in, among other things:
- the position of the patient
- quality assurance and quality control
- policy that is directly related to the well-being of the patient (such as nutrition, care, waiting lists and treatment)
- Complaints handling procedure
- the general policy on admission and termination of care

The Patient Council meets once a month. As a patient, you can view the work plan, the institutional decision, the regulations and the annual report. Opinions issued are included in the annual report.

Ideas and suggestions (share your experiences)
The Patient Council would like to receive new ideas or suggestions from patients or relatives of the Netherlands Cancer Institute.
You can send us your experiences, comments, advice or questions via our e-mail or postal address. If you want to receive a response from the Patient Council, it is important that you state your name, address, e-mail address or telephone number.
No individual problems or complaints
The Patient Council does not deal with individual problems and/or complaints. If you have a complaint, you can contact the Complaints Bureau for Clients of the Netherlands Cancer Institute. Composition of the Patient Council
The Patient Council consists of a maximum of 9 people. These are (former) cancer patients, family members and representatives of 'Living with cancer' (formerly the Dutch Federation of Cancer Patients - NFK).
