Cancer and its treatment can cause significant physical, mental, and social discomfort. We explore the causes and treatment of these issues in order to improve our patients’ overall quality of life after cancer treatment.
Nowadays, more and more people survive or live longer with cancer than ever before. During and after treatment, patients might experience significant physical or psychological discomfort. Our specialized professionals at the survivorship center can help patients and their loved ones with any physical, mental, social, or spiritual issues that might surface during or after treatment. To further improve our means of support, the Netherlands Cancer Institute conducts research into specific problems and the efficacy of our treatments and interventions. Why do certain patients to experience problems while others do not? How can we support patients and their loved ones to further improve survivorship during their treatments? We aim to give all our patients the best quality of life possible.
