Thomas de Wijkerslooth

Since 2018 I have been working as a Gastroenterologist at the Netherlands Cancer Institute. I specialize in targeted treatments through endoscopy. I perform internal bile duct examinations (ERCP) that can remedy a bile duct blockage. Cancer can also push part of the gastrointestinal tract closed, whereby a metal tube (stent) can be placed. Finally, I specialize in internal ultrasound (EUS) and endoscopic removal of early forms of colorectal cancer (eFTR).

The NKI is a very pleasant hospital to work in because there is a constant urge for innovative and high-quality care. There is also very intensive and accessible contact between specialists and other healthcare staff, so that the treatment is optimal for the patient.
