Myriam Chalabi

Since 2016 I have been working as an internist-oncologist at the Netherlands Cancer Institute. My specialty is the treatment of patients with cancer of the gastrointestinal tract (including colorectal, gastric and esophageal cancer). When treating cancer, it is important to do this with a dedicated team of medical specialists and nurse specialists. The involvement, knowledge and skills of all doctors and nurses make working at the Netherlands Cancer Institute very special.

In addition, at the Netherlands Cancer Institute we do a lot of research into the treatment of cancer with the hope of improving it for the individual patient. My research focuses on immunotherapy for cancers of the gastrointestinal tract. In the field of research, too, it is essential that different specialties are represented and work together, because without each other and without the patients who participate in scientific research, we will not make any progress.
