Neeltje Steeghs

Since 2009 I have been working as an internist-oncologist and clinical pharmacologist at the Netherlands Cancer Institute. I specialize in the treatment of patients who are treated in early clinical trials or Phase 1 trials with new investigational drugs and in sarcoma/GIST treatment.

Since 2017, I have been head of the Center for Early Clinical Research & Head of the Clinical Research Unit. The work is so incredibly interesting because it is different every day; Supervising PhD students in their research, guiding patients in uncertain times and collaborating with pharmaceutical companies and international early clinical researchers to constantly develop new and better medicines. Nowhere in the Netherlands can that be done as well as here in the Netherlands Cancer Institute.
