Mathilde Almekinders

Since 2015 I have been working as a pathologist at the Netherlands Cancer Institute (NKI). My areas of interest are tumors of the breast, tumors of the skin (including melanomas) and cytology. As part of the team, I provide direction for optimal diagnosis and treatment based on cell and tissue research.

I am conducting PhD research in the research group of Dr. Jelle Wesseling on ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) of the breast with the aim of identifying biomarkers to provide better customized care.
