Mathilde Almekinders

I have been working as a pathologist at the Netherlands Cancer Institute since 2015. I primarily concern myself with chest tumors, skin cancer (including melanomas), and cytology. Based on cell and tissue analysis, my team and I provide information for an optimal diagnosis and treatment.

I am conducting my PhD research as part of Dr. Jelle Wesseling's research group. I study ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) of the breast and aim to identify biomarkers that can help us provide a more targeted treatment.
