Marianne Piek-den Hartog

For 17 years I have been working as a general practitioner in the Surgery Department of the Netherlands Cancer Institute. I started screening high-risk patients with regard to breast cancer. Over the years, I have also started doing the rapid diagnostics Mammapoli and the follow-up after breast cancer treatment.

I worked as a general practitioner in Amsterdam for a long time, but now I concentrate entirely on my work here. I mainly focus on guiding patients from their first visit to the hospital, which is often accompanied by a lot of uncertainty and unrest. I think the Antoni van Leeuwenhoek is a nice hospital to work in.
