Astrid Scholten

After working at the LUMC in Leiden for 15 years, I have been working as a radiation oncologist at the Netherlands Cancer Institute since 2014. I specialize in the treatment of breast cancer and soft tissue tumors (sarcomas).

Radiation is often combined with one or more other treatments, such as surgery or chemotherapy. Within our multidisciplinary treatment teams, we work closely together in order to provide every patient with the optimal treatment and care. The Netherlands Cancer Institute offers us the opportunity to combine this patient care with scientific research, in order to contribute to further improvement of the treatment of people with cancer.
