I have been working at the Netherlands Cancer Institute since 2012, first as an oncology nurse on the 6th floor (gynaecology, urology and gastroenterology) and then as a nurse specialist in gynaecology. As a nurse specialist, you have the opportunity to work from both the nursing and the medical domain. As far as I am concerned, one of the strengths of our multidisciplinary team is the low-threshold consultation with each other and together with the team and the patient we determine the optimal treatment.

In my role as a nurse specialist, I am also the permanent contact person and I try to support and guide the patient and his/her loved ones as well as possible before, during and after treatment.

Outside the hospital, I am active as secretary of the Amsterdam Trofoblast team (ATT) and editor of the oncological gynecology newsletter working group.
