Baukelien van Triest

I have been working at the Radiation Oncology department at the Netherlands Cancer Institute since 2008. I specialize in radiation treatment for people with prostate cancer and gynecological or rectal tumors. I also work as a radiation oncologist at the Terhooi hospital in Hilversum. I aim to find a personalized treatment together with my patients: precision medicine. It is very motivating to work towards this goal together with my colleagues from across various disciplines, both at our hospital and at other medical centers. I combine my clinical work with scientific research, which provides me with even more opportunities to further personalize our treatment. It is encouraging to see that the knowledge we gain about specific tumors can help our patients make better choices regarding a suitable treatment plan.
