Why the NKI Center for Cell Therapy?

Through years of experience, the Netherlands Cancer Institute has extensive knowledge and expertise in the field of cellular immunotherapy and stem cell transplantation after high-dose chemotherapy.

Our hospital has an extensive and advanced research infrastructure. This also includes the production facility (BioTherapeutics Unit) of the company's own pharmacy, where therapeutic cell products are generated under strictly controlled conditions. This makes the application of cell therapy within the NKI possible with maximum personal attention and guidance.

Through scientific research, the Netherlands Cancer Institute develops, unlocks and disseminates new knowledge about immunotherapy in general and cell therapy in particular.

The centre offers high quality and short lead times at the start of new studies.

The studies at the NKI Centre for Cell Therapy are open to patients who meet the set conditions. These are often patients who have exhausted treatment within the possibilities of regular treatments.

In a joint consultation of medical specialists and other practitioners, it is determined who is eligible for the studies. The patient ultimately decides whether or not he wants to participate in the study.
